How to use it
- Paste the full URL of your page.
- Type the SEO title and meta description you plan to publish.
- Watch the bars. Green means it fits. Orange means it is close to the limit. Red means Google will probably cut it off with "...".
- Switch to Mobile to see how the result wraps on a phone.
- Click Copy and paste the final text into Rank Math, Yoast or your SEO plugin.
Why the tool counts pixels, not characters
Google cuts titles by how much space they take on screen, not by how many characters they have. In Google's title font, a capital "W" takes about four times the space of a lowercase "i". So two titles with the same character count can look very different in search results.
This tool measures your text in the same font and size Google uses, then compares it with these limits:
| Field | Limit used here | Roughly |
|---|---|---|
| Title (desktop) | 580 px | 50 to 60 characters |
| Description (desktop) | 920 px | 150 to 160 characters |
| Description (mobile) | 680 px | 110 to 120 characters |
These limits are common estimates used by SEO tools. Google does not publish exact numbers, and the cut-off point moves slightly over time.
Why Google sometimes shows a different title
Google can rewrite your title or description when it thinks other text on the page describes it better. Its own documentation on title links and snippets explains when this happens. A title that is clear, matches the page's main heading and fits the space has a better chance of being shown as you wrote it.
FAQ
Is this tool free?
Yes. There is no sign-up and no limit on how many times you use it.
Does it save or send my text anywhere?
No. Everything runs inside your browser. Your title, description and URL never leave your device.
What happens if I leave the meta description empty?
Google picks a piece of text from your page and shows that instead. You get less control over what searchers read, so it is usually better to write one.
