PrivateVPN used to be a reliable VPN provider until 2022. Following its acquisition by Miss Group, its performance has consistently degraded. However, it still offers unique features such as a free dedicated IP, P2P support with port forwarding, obfuscated servers, and both physical and virtual servers in India.
However, the physical server in India raises a red flag. Indian VPN data laws may require data retention for up to five years. So, considering the high cost, lengthy plan duration, and potential data logging concerns, I’m a bit skeptical about PrivateVPN.
If you specifically need access to obsfscated servers, physical Indian servers, and a free dedicated IP, then PrivateVPN might be an option for you.

Private Internet Access, or PIA, is an established VPN service provider with over 10 years of experience. While known for snooze functionalities and P2P support, some drawbacks exist. Ownership by Kape Technologies, limited streaming support, and potential speed issues might outweigh the benefits for some users.

Snooze Functionality
A unique feature, Snooze allows you to temporarily pause the VPN connection for a set period. Once the time elapses, PIA automatically reconnects to the same server, providing a convenient way to manage brief VPN interruptions.
P2P Support with Port Forwarding
PIA allows P2P file sharing, granting access to popular torrenting sites like BitTorrent and qBittorrent. This makes it a good choice for users who prioritize P2P functionality.
Keep No Logs

PIA offers good download speeds on Indian servers (around 174 Mbps). Upload speeds (around 84 Mbps) could be improved, but the download speed drop compared to a baseline of 240 Mbps is a manageable 27%.

When connecting to both Indian and USA servers, PIA offers acceptable speed reduction. However, the speeds are inconsistent, which results in an unreliable VPN connection.

The VPN-induced latency on USA servers was even more pronounced, resulting in download speeds of only 38 Mbps (84.17% drop) and upload speeds of 17 Mbps (92.92% drop).
