Tools Required for Generating AI News Video
Before diving into the step-by-step guide, you will need access to the following tools from the OpenAI GPT Store.
- Web Browser GPT: We will use this GPT for gathering information and conducting research on our news topics.
- VideoGPT by Veed: We will use this GPT for generating news scripts and creating videos with AI news anchors.
Not sure where to find these tools? Simply visit the GPT Store and type in the name of these tools in the search bar on the dashboard. Once you find the GPT, hit the “Start Chat” button to use it!
Now, let’s dive into the process of generating AI videos with AI news anchors from scratch.
How to Create an AI News Anchor Video? (Step-by-Step Guide)
Creating a professional news video featuring an AI news anchor requires multiple steps. Following is a detailed step-by-step tutorial for you to generate your news video. To demonstrate, I’ll create an AI News Video on the much-awaited iOS 18 Update! Let’s go!
Step 1: Find News Topic Ideas
We will begin by researching relevant topics to create our news video. For this, we will use the Web Browser GPT. You can enter a prompt like:
“I want to create a news video on iOS 18. Can you suggest me some good topics that I can create videos on?”
Web Browser GPT will give you a range of video topic ideas and pointers specifying what to cover under each topic. For our AI news video, the first topic “iOS 18 Release: What’s New and Exciting?” seems the most appropriate.
Step 2: Conduct Topic Research
Next, we will prompt Web Browser GPT to conduct thorough research on our topic. For distraction-free reading, you can also mention not including any resource links in the research. We will use the following prompt to conduct the research:
“Can you research around this topic- iOS 18 Release: What’s New and Exciting? But do not mention the name of the site from where you are taking this information.”
It will browse through various top websites and fetch all the relevant information about our topic. I like how the research is well-formatted and neatly arranged for readability. We will hit the Copy button at the end of the research to copy the research before proceeding to the next step.
Step 3: Create a Script
Next, we will use VideoGPT by Veed to generate our script. For this, we will use the following prompt and specify our requirements. Make sure to include the video duration and other relevant information in the prompt.
“Can you create a news script for me from the information that I will give? I want a script where a news anchor can present the news. The script should be sufficient for a 1-minute video.”
Next, you can insert the research after the prompt and it will generate a video script for you. You can edit the script and personalize it as per your requirements.
- Note: You can also use Write for Me GPT to generate your video script. However, VideoGPT by Veed is more versatile as it also converts your news content script to video. This is the reason I considered it over Write for Me GPT.
Step 3: Generate AI News Video
After the script is ready, you will be asked if you want to generate a video with a male or female voiceover. Type in what you prefer, for example, “Yes, create the video with the voiceover of a male.”
Next, you need to allow permission for VideoGPT to talk to Veed.io. Within 1-2 minutes, it will generate a video and provide you a preview link to view and edit it. Clicking on the link will take you to the Veed.io website where you can edit your video.
If you are not satisfied with the AI-generated video, you can specify additional prompts to modify it as per your requirements.
Step 4: Add AI News Anchor
To add an AI news anchor for narrating your video script, hit the Medis button on the Veed.io dashboard. Under the AI Avatars tab, click on the ‘View All’ button. This will give you a list of all the AI avatars available on the platform.
Click on any avatar you wish to use. Next, select a language from the Language drop-down menu and type a script for the AI avatar in the Script section. Finally, hit the ‘Add to Project’ button. Your virtual anchor will now narrate the AI news for you.
Step 5: Edit the AI Video
Finally, you can edit other aspects of the AI video. Let’s discuss them one by one below.
Change the Aspect Ratio
By default, the AI videos are generated in the 9:16 (Portrait) ratio. However, you can customize it for different social media platforms by editing the aspect ratio. Simply click on the ‘Tall Portrait’ option below your generated video.
Now, select any social media from YouTube, YouTube Short, TikTok, Instagram Post, Instagram Story, etc. Your video will be resized accordingly.
Create a Voice Clone
Veed.io offers multiple voice options for your generated video. You can do a voiceover, create a voice clone, convert text to speech, and even upload background audio. To create a clone of your voice, hit the Audio option on the left panel.
Next, click on the Voice Clone icon. Under the Voice tab, click on the Add New button. You will be asked to select a language of your choice. If you select Hindi, it’ll display sample content in Hindi. You’ll need to read out the paragraph and submit it to create your voice clone.
Once the voice clone is generated, you can type in your text script for the clone to narrate it. Hit the Generate button and your AI voice clone will read out the script in a natural voice. However, one thing to note is that the voice clone is only available for 1 hour on the free version!
Add Voiceover and Background Music
To insert your own voiceover into the video, you need to visit the Audio tab and click on the Voiceover option. Next, you can start recording your voice. Once you are done, you can insert it into the video.
Alternatively, there is a library of stock music tracks and sound effects in the Veed.io library. They are available under the Audio tab. You can sort them by categories to save time in selecting your favorite ones. Hit the Plus (+) button to insert it into your video timeline.
Add Recording to Video
Veed.io also lets you insert a screen recording or camera recording into your video with ease. Simply hit the Record button on the left panel.
It features a variety of options like Camera, Audio, Screen, Screen and Camera, Slides, etc. You can select one depending on what you wish to record.
Add Filters and Transitions
To experiment with filters, click on the Filters option on the left sidebar. You’ll be presented with multiple color grading filters and effects. Select your preferred one and it will apply to your video clip.
If you wish to add transitions between your videos, hit the Transitions button. Select a transition you like and drag and drop it on the desired cuts.
Insert Text and Elements
There are some cool and quirky text templates available under the Text options. You can use them on your videos to display any highlighted information. However, they are quite limited compared to Canva and other online design platforms.
Apart from that, you can also use the Elements tab to insert emojis, animated stickers, GIFs, mockups, icons, etc into your video. These are some basic video editing features you’ll find on Veed.io to generate professional news videos.
Step 6: Export the Video
Finally, when you are satisfied with your video, click on the Done button on the top right corner. Set the export quality and if you want your subtitles included with the video, hit the ‘Burn Subtitles’ button. Finally, click on the Export Video button to download it to your device.
You can also share it on multiple social media platforms, embed it into your website, or share via links. Here’s the final news video on Apple iOS 18 narrated by an AI anchor! Hope you enjoy watching!
Tips and Considerations While Creating AI News Videos
1) Check Free Plan Limitations
Whichever tool you use (Veed.io in this case), the free version will always have certain limitations. For instance, the free plan of Veed.io allows video generation of 1 hour/month and also adds watermarks on the final videos.
2) Check Video Resolution
On the free version of Veed.io, you can only export your videos in 720p quality. If you want to download them at 1080p or 4k quality, you need to subscribe to the paid version.
3) Check Supported Languages and Accents
If you’re planning to create multi-lingual content or English content in a specific accent, make sure the video generator supports it. For example, Veed.io doesn’t support the Indian English accent. So if I want to generate an AI anchor from India, the accent will make it seem unnatural.
4) Lip Sync Issues with AI Anchor
The script for the AI avatar is generated separately, which you can insert in any section of your video. However, the AI new anchor’s lips may not always be in sync with the script, which looks unnatural.
Conclusion
I hope this guide on creating AI News Anchors and Videos was helpful. If you are a content creator, own a news agency, or belong to the news industry or entertainment section, you can use this tool to generate realistic and engaging videos.
