Ghibli art is taking the internet by storm! This Japanese animation style has impressed social media users with its expressive characters, dreamy visuals, muted pastel color palette, and deep emotions.

But did you know you can now turn Ghibli-style art into an animated video? While most influencers are only sharing images, you can stay one step ahead by creating Ghibli-style shorts and animated videos!

Wondering how? Here, I’ll discuss “How to make a Ghibli-style image into an animated video”—step by step, and for free! So, let’s get started!

How to Make a Ghibli-style Image into an Animated Video?

Curious about how to turn your Ghibli-style art into an interactive video? It’s easier than you think—no rocket science! Let me walk you through the process step by step.

Option 1: With DigenAI and DreamFace App

DigenAI is a free AI video generator that allows you to create watermark-free videos from images. However, it takes approximately 3 to 5 minutes to process and only generates 5 seconds of AI video.

To extend the video length, I tried another tool called DreamFace. It allowed me to expand the video up to 30 seconds and even add my own voiceover with lip sync. However, the final output included a DreamFace watermark.

Step 1: Create a Ghibli-Style Image

First things first! You need to transform your image into Ghibli-style art. To do this, you can use either the free version of ChatGPT or Grok AI. Simply upload your original image, enter the prompt, and let the AI generate a Ghibli-style image within seconds. Save the image for your device. For more details, check out How to Create Ghibli-Style Images for Free now!

Step 2: Sign in to DigenAI Online

Now that you have your Ghibli-style image, it’s time to convert it into an animated avatar. Visit DigenAI and sign in to create a free account.

Step 3: Upload Your Ghibli-Style Image

You’ll get 300 AI credits for free on DigenAI. Now, click on “Create” to open a new tab, then select “Upload” to upload your Ghibli-style image.

Step 4: Generate an Avatar Video from the Image

Enter a prompt describing how you want your animated video to look. Then, click “Generate Video”. Since DigenAI is a free tool, the process may take some time—so be patient!

Step 5: Download the Avatar Video

While your video is being processed, you can right-click and save it to your device. In this way, you can get a watermark-free download. Alternatively, wait for the process to complete and click “Download” to export your video.

Step 6: Sign in to the DreamFace App

DreamFace allows you to add audio to your avatar video. Go to the Play Store, install DreamFace, and open the app. On the homepage, tap on “Video Lip Sync” to get started.

Step 7: Import Your Avatar and Audio

Step 7 Import Your Avatar and Audio

At this stage, tap on “Avatar” and upload the animated video you created earlier. Then, click “Add Script to Continue” and import your audio file. If you don’t have a personal voiceover, you can use an AI Voice Generator to create one.

Step 8: Download Your Ghibli-Style Animated Video

Tap “Animate” and wait for the process to complete. Once done, click “Save”, and voilà—your animated video is ready!
