2. Automatic Summarization
You can summarize long pieces of content into brief notes. For example, Letterly allows you to summarize hours of meetings, capturing key takeaways, and short or detailed meeting summaries.
3. Cross-Platform Accessibility
Letterly isn’t limited to Android or iOS devices. It’s also available as a desktop app and web version. Auto-synchronization ensures you can access your notes from any device.

Letterly works perfectly even without internet access. You can enjoy offline recording. Plus, it offers screen-off recording for a flexible on-the-go experience.
6. Language Translation
Even if you record in regional languages, you can translate speech into your preferred language option. For example, you can convert Hindi speech into English written content.
7. User-friendly Access
To quickly record speech anywhere, it offers a record widget for the mobile app. Plus, three display modes are available (dark, light, and system) for an eye-soothing experience.
Testing Letterly in Real-World Scenarios (Use Cases)
I’ve been using Letterly for my various tasks. I’m quite enjoying the experience. Let me share how it delivers results in original use cases:
1. Note Taking
Letterly quickly transcribes my voice into speech. I have used the “List” option from the “Rewrite” feature. It converted into a short to-do list. Surprisingly, it didn’t miss any tasks in my voice recordings. And I got the accurate results within a few minutes.
2. Social Media
Letterly can provide content for multiple social media platforms. It can create X Posts, X Threads, LinkedIn Posts, Facebook, and Instagram content.
As you can see, I’ve used one voice prompt to create a lot of social media content. The captions are well-written and structured differently for each platform. For example, X Thread content is much longer and more detailed than X posts.
It added cool emojis with the text for more eye-catching captions. Plus, you don’t need to search for hashtags as well; it auto-suggests them.
One thing: Letterly kept the content for each platform more or less similar. It just changed the structure and sentence construction. I wish they could come up with more creative ideas.
3. Journaling
With Letterly, you can create two distinct journal types: Personal Thoughts (share your reflections in an easy-to-read format) & Gratitude Journal (express your appreciation).
The journal entries were clear and easy to understand, avoiding complex phrasing. Letterly offers key insights and mood tracking for professionally written content. I particularly appreciated the unique formatting for both gratitude and personal journals.
4. Writing Emails
Letterly also helps in writing formal and casual emails. You can copy the email and send it directly to your office colleagues, clients, or loved ones.
I really liked the output. The professional emails are precise, to-the-point, and free from any grammatical errors. Email-ready templates are truly appropriate for individual use.
However, I didn’t find any significant difference between formal and casual email content.
5. Drafting Messages
This AI writing tool is incredibly useful for automating the typing process. For example, if you want to send a quick message to your team, simply record your speech and transcribe it with Letterly.
I gave it a short instruction on how to write Business and Friendly messages. I kept my speech raw to test its performance even when the sentence framing wasn’t correct.
It works perfectly to write personalized messages for different contexts with different formats. The tool uses appropriate words and sentences for clients and friends.
6. Video Script
Scriptwriting truly requires expertise. And if you’re not a professional writer, Letterly can simplify the task for you. I’ve used it multiple times to publish professional videos on my YouTube channels.
When I tested this essential tool for both long and short video scripts, the results were amazing. The long video scripts come with proper introductions and hooks to capture the audience’s attention and are categorized into different sections. And at the end, the tool also added a subscribe section with personal greetings.
If you post daily reels, short video scripts will be a great help. Letterly breaks video scripts into different scenes with timelines. It wrote intro and outro text, which is short but covers all important information.
7. Newsletter
Newsletters help brands stay connected with their audience and keep them informed. In my weekly newsletter, you’ll get the latest news in the AI world and also incredible tool recommendations.
Hence, I gave Letterly a similar command for my newsletter. This tool created a well-structured newsletter. It’s categorized with proper subject lines, brief introductions, key features, CTAs, and greetings.
I really liked the newsletter content. In fact, I’ve implemented its suggestions in my content as well. The best thing is that I can directly share it through Gmail.
8. Article Outline
Letterly can generate articles with proper outlines. It will automatically draft it with headings and subheadings. To test how it performs, I gave it a prompt to write an article on “Best VPN in India for 2025.”
As you can see in my prompt, I didn’t give any information about VPNs or individual pros and cons, pricing, etc. I just described how I wanted the output.
Surprisingly, Letterly added content in each section on its own. And the information is correct. Obviously, it’s just an outline. You can’t use the structured output for final content delivery. Edit and refine it with more information.
But, overall, the tool will definitely remain helpful for beginners and new bloggers.
Letterly User Experience
User Interface
The Letterly user interface is quite modern and easy to navigate. It offers three display options: Dark, Light, and System. Even when selecting the System color, it displays a soothing light pink shade.
On the Home screen, you’ll find three main options: Rewrite, Record, and Settings. Within the Settings section, all features are neatly categorized for easy access. The app clearly displays each piece of content with its corresponding time and date.
Learning Curve
This AI note-taking app is perfect for both beginners and professionals. It’s incredibly easy to learn and use. The app is simple, with no complex settings or features.
In fact, you’ll likely find it quicker to use than ChatGPT or Gemini. Simply record or write your instructions, and all rewrite options are already pre-set with advanced prompts.
Performance and Reliability
Letterly transcribes long 15-minute recordings in under a minute. And the transcription accuracy is impressive. Even with incorrect sentence construction in the speech, the output is free from grammatical and vocabulary errors.
I haven’t experienced any lags while using the app. The UI is fast and smooth. However, I encountered issues with voice recognition on only two occasions. The transcribed speech was completely different from what I actually spoke.
Letterly Pros
1. Voice-to-Text Feature
You can generate polished content directly with just voice notes. No need to spend hours typing; the tool auto-transcribes your recording.
2. Create Content with Text Prompts
Similar to ChatGPT or Gemini, Letterly recently introduced a text-to-content feature. You can write detailed prompts and generate content using pre-set templates.
3. Regional Language Support
Letterly supports many regional Indian languages. You can give a speech in Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, and Urdu.
4. Multiple Content from Single Speech
With a single voice prompt, you can get multiple content formats. For example, you can generate social media posts for LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook at once.
5. Advanced than ChatGPT
Letterly comes with predefined content options developed by prompt engineers. Hence, the writing quality is often more refined than ChatGPT.
5. Manual Editing
After recording, you can edit your prompt. Although the tool accurately transcribes the voice, you still have the scope to edit and refine it.
6. Extended Recording
You’ll get a 15-minute recording limit per session. So, the tool lets you give detailed prompts without any limitations.
7. Unlimited Recording on Trial
If you’re using Letterly on a free trial, you still get unlimited recording options. This helps you test the tool thoroughly before purchasing.
8. Custom Rewrite Option
Apart from the ready-made template, you can create additional rewrite options with your own instructions. It will generate content based on your unique needs and style.
Letterly Cons
1. Lack of Audio File Upload
Currently, you must record speech within the platform. There’s no option to upload existing MP3 or other audio files for transcription and content generation.
2. Limited Variation in Email Tone
Letterly distinguishes between formal and casual emails through structure and greetings only. Sadly, the body content often remains quite similar.
3. Limited Creativity in Captions
Caption generation can feel somewhat less creative. Letterly offers limited variety in caption styles and often suggests only one primary option for each platform.
4. Not Suitable for Podcast
Letterly allows you to record your voice for a limited time. While this is sufficient for many content types, it may not be ideal for recording lengthy podcast scripts.

Conclusion

Letterly is an innovative AI-powered content creation tool. Many think Letterly performs a similar function to ChatGPT or Gemini. It generates polished, purpose-specific content from both voice messages and text prompts. However, its standout feature is its extensive library of Rewrite templates.
To achieve the best results with ChatGPT or Gemini, you often need to give detailed prompts. In contrast, Letterly developed its Rewrite options using advanced AI prompts. The tool ensures you consistently get high-quality results with just a few clicks.
To me, the app proves extremely helpful for writing captions, quick notes, and newsletters. While the plans might seem expensive initially, they are currently available at huge discounts.
