ad:tech New Delhi (2022) – Review, My Experience – Should You Go?

If you are into the advertising or marketing industry, you must probably know about the ad:tech event. Well, I recently attended the ad:tech 2022 Delhi Event, and this article is all about my personal experience.   

Prior to this, I had also attended the Affiliate World Conference in Dubai, which turned out to be a very enlightening experience. Today, I’m doing the ad:tech New Delhi 2022 Review

In this article, I’m going to cover everything about this year’s ad:tech event – what it’s about, my learnings, some major pros and cons, and if you should attend it. So, with no further delay, let’s begin.

What is the ad:tech event?

The ad:tech is the biggest annual marketing and media tech event in India. It is a 2-day event that brings together the top advertising networks, media platforms, and marketing companies.

The most influential speakers and experts from the field of digital marketing participate in this event and talk about the latest topics and innovations in the digital space.

The primary aim of this event is to explore the latest developments in the advertising and marketing industries. The ad:tech 2022 was organized recently on 26th and 27th April in the Leela Ambience Hotel, Gurugram.  

About ad:tech Delhi 2022

The 2022 session marked the 10th edition of the ad:tech event with the theme of RISE – Responsible, Inclusive, Scalable, Experiential. This included challenges that businesses faced and the rise of businesses in new fields and territories.

This year, over 5000 people signed up for ad:tech along with 100 speakers, 35 sponsors, and 36 sessions. Over 80+ popular brands, ad networks, and agencies participated in this event, including Airtel Ads, Jio Ads, Flipkart Ads, Meta, Taboola, Spotify, and more.

Talking about the stage events, the key sessions on Day 1 included Empowering Brands for R.I.S.E. – Connecting the online and offline world, Creator Economy – How creators are changing the marketing landscape, and many more.

The key sessions on Day 2 included Programmatic advertising and the battle for the soul of the Internet by Mitch Waters (SVP – The Trade Desk), and more. You could also find booths of popular ad platforms like JioAds, Paytm Ads, MGID, VCommission, etc.

This year’s ad:tech event turned out to be a very glorious one! I am glad I decided to attend it.

Pros of ad:tech Event


The ad:tech is undoubtedly the best networking event in India! So, if you are in the digital space, you’ll find a variety of popular faces from YouTubers to bloggers, content creators, influencers, and more in this event.

Thus, networking is the biggest advantage of attending the ad:tech event!

Signing up Exclusive Deals

The ad:tech is also the perfect ground for signing up exclusive deals with your favorite ad networks and media platforms. 

For example, if you have been using a specific platform’s ads and wish to switch, you can approach ad networks in this event and request them for free credit. It’s a win-win situation for you and the company because you might end up becoming their long-term customer!

Spectacular After-Party

The ambience and the vibe of the after-party was truly amazing.

I had a lot of fun connecting and interacting with many popular faces in the digital industry. The management of the party was also really well done!

Free Food

Unlike the AWC Conference in Dubai, food was free for all the participants of the ad:tech event. From tea to snacks, breakfast, lunch, and drinks, everything was included with the event pass.  

Cons of ad:tech Event

Crowded Event Space

The first day of the event felt a bit over-crowded with attendees. This was probably because they had opened up a limited number of free registrations at the last moment.

The Day 2 of the event was comparatively less congested as a lesser number of attendees showed up. In my opinion, this is the one point they can improve on in the future ad:tech event.

If they arrange a slightly more spacious location to accommodate all the participants along with free registrants easily, it would be a more enjoyable experience for everyone!

My Learnings from the ad:tech Event

Apart from creating loads of wonderful memories, I also got to learn a lot of lessons from this ad:tech event. Let me share some of them with you.

Networking with Professionals 

Networking was the major reason I attended the ad:tech event! Apart from the AWC Dubai event, I had not attended any other meetups or events after Covid hit.

This made me even more curious to attend our Indian networking event – ad:tech 2022. And guess what? It didn’t disappoint me. I got to meet so many influential people, including Amit Mishra from Tryootech, who has become a really good friend now.

Jitendra Vaswani from Bloggers Ideas

I also met Satish Kushwaha from Satish K Videos, Pavan from Blog with Pavan, Anil Agarwal from BloggersPassion, Jitendra Vaswani from Bloggers Ideas, and many more from the Blogging and YouTube world.

One thing that really inspired me was meeting up with so many successful advertisers and marketers that were not very popular among the crowd.

They just hustle in silence behind the camera and generate massive results! The experiences of these people would be extremely beneficial to your business. 

Networking with advertisers and creators

Effective Advertising

I also got to learn a lot about advertising and how to efficiently use the data that’s available. There are a range of ad networks and platforms available today.

This makes it crucial to identify the kind of advertising network that would be suitable for your content. 

For example, as per my observation, trending and entertaining articles work really well on Taboola. However, affiliate and conversion-focused articles seem to not work that well. I didn’t dive deeper into advertisements, though.

Problems Faced by People

Through this event, I got awareness about the problems people in the digital industry are facing related to ad banning. So many users are complaining of their ad accounts being repeatedly blocked or banned! 

Ways of Earning Revenue

I also came across the different methods used by people to earn revenue and which ones I could implement on my own business. For example, selling online courses seems to be a very effective way of earning revenue in the digital space.  

Some popular examples of online course topics are education, personal finance, crypto, betting, etc. As of now, I am not planning to create online courses on these subjects. We can think about them in the future.

Cracking Deals

The process of cracking favorable deals with different ad networks is an art in itself. This ad:tech event taught me how to effectively crack deals with my favorite ad platforms so that it benefits me and them equally! 

Should You Attend the ad:tech event?

There were two types of passes available for the ad:tech event – Free and Paid. The free passes were limited in number. However, if you manage to get a free pass, then this event is totally worth attending.

You’ll get to connect with a lot of new people and learn so much from them that you can implement in your own business.

The paid passes start from ₹25,000. Unlike the free registrations, this includes free food, after-party, and access to speaker stage events. Therefore, you get an upper hand when it comes to learning new strategies and networking with the experts in a much better way! 

I would suggest you only get a paid pass if you have an action plan in mind. If you can recover all your spent money by effective networking, cracking deals, selling your services, etc, then attending the ad:tech event with a paid pass would be quite fruitful for you! 

Will I attend the ad:tech event again? 

Well, considering the experience that I had this year, I am probably going to attend the ad:tech event again whenever it is organized.
