What is BlurPage?
BlurPage is a Chrome and Firefox extension that allows you to hide sensitive information on your screens.
What makes it stand out is its accuracy while identifying text and elements on the screen that need to be blurred.
At present, it is available as a lifetime deal on AppSumo for $10.99, which I have purchased as well. As a creator, I feel like BlurPage would be quite a beneficial tool for my work. Wondering how? Keep reading to know more!

What does BlurPage do?
The BlurPage extension can do two things.
1. Blur Elements on the Screen
It identifies various elements present on a web page like images, links, email ids, contact numbers, payment details, address, etc and blurs them with efficiency.
2. Blur Selected Text
This feature lets you select specific text and even entire paragraphs you wish to hide from the screen.
How do I use BlurPage?
Let me explain how I use BlurPage with the help of an example. Suppose I need to demonstrate the payment procedure in one of my videos.
I can use BlurPage to hide certain details like my payment details, contact details, address, etc from the screen. I can also select and hide a particular text or a paragraph from the page.
However, the only downside is that once you hit refresh, all your blurred texts are gone!
So, how does this tool prove beneficial for me? Well,
- It makes my videos look cleaner.
- I don’t need to edit anything post production.
- At this price point, it’s a great value-for-money tool!
Who Should Use BlurPage?
In my opinion, the following individuals would most benefit from the BlurPage tool.
If you are a Blogger, YouTuber, etc who needs to add screenshots or videos in your articles/videos to capture sensitive procedures like payment processes, BlurPage can help you save time!
If you are an online teacher who needs to share their screen while teaching students, BlurPage can help you hide unwanted information from the screen.
If you are a freelancer who needs to create explainer videos for your clients or even send screenshots, then BlurPage might be a very effective solution.
4. Record Screens
If you are a Reviewer like me, who needs to create screen recordings for demonstrating various online products, BlurPage can be of great help!
Cons of BlurPage
BlurPage is an effective tool. But it misses out on some significant features a paid product must possess. Let’s find out what they are.
- The ability to set up what to blur in advance. (For example, specific words)
- The ability to maintain the blur state even after reloading the page.
I hope they will implement these much needed changes in BlurPage soon!
BlurPage is a simple and powerful tool offered at just for $10.99 as a lifetime offer on AppSumo! Being a creator, I totally love this tool. It helps me cut down my video production time.
On the positive side, it works with accuracy! That’s exactly what I needed.
