Lazybird AI Review
Summary
Lazybird AI offers an attractive lifetime deal, with realistic English voices, and good support. However, it lacks voice cloning, has limited Hindi voices, and its celebrity voices may incur copyright issues.
This tool is best for budget-conscious creators of AI audio content, especially for faceless YouTube channels. But professionals needing high-quality Hindi voices should explore other alternatives.

About Lazybird AI
Lazybird is an AI text-to-voice generation platform founded by Ellis Nguyen in 2023. It helps you generate high-quality and authentic voiceovers in no time. It features an extensive voice library of 200+ high-quality voices in over 100+ languages to explore a diversity of voices.
The best part about Lazybird AI is its ease of use. All you need to do is enter your script, choose a voice, and tweak a few settings to generate a high-quality voiceover.

Lazybird AI User Interface
Lazybird’s user interface is quite modern and friendly. The dashboard presents a list of the recent projects created.
From the left panel, you can create a new project, access support, and account settings, and change language. Overall, its user interface is easy to use with minimal features. Beginners and professional users won’t have any trouble working with it.
Lazybird AI Features
1) Library of AI Voices
Lazybird offers a decent library of 200+ AI voices in 100+ languages. Under each voice, you can find tags like Expressions, Multilingual, and Celebrity. These tags indicate a particular voice supports multiple expressions and languages, or is a celebrity’s voice.
I liked the variety of tones available in Lazybird’s voices with Expression tags. You can generate realistic voices in tones like Angry, Excited, Shouting, Terrified, Hopeful, Newscast, and more.
Though Lazybird offers a search bar, they should’ve also added better filters by categories like gender, use case, tones, language, etc.
Another interesting feature of Lazybird AI is its Celebrity voices. It features the voices of celebrities like Obama, Mr. Beast, Morgan Freeman, Kanye West, Spongebob, etc. I found the voices to be spot on! However, there may be concerns regarding copyright and licensing issues.
In my opinion, you can use the celebrity voices for some fun, casual projects. But I won’t recommend using them for monetization.
Example: Here is a dialogue narrated in a variety of tones.
2) Voice Customization Options
Similar to other voice generation tools like ElevenLabs and Murf AI, Lazybird also comes with multiple customization options. Once you select your AI voice, you can adjust its speed, add pauses, and adjust the pitch and volume of the speech.
I liked how it allows you to choose the duration of pause from 0.5 sec to 3 sec. However, I hope they also include a pronunciation dictionary in their features in the coming updates.
3) Multi-Speaker Voiceovers
Lazybird’s voice generation dashboard is similar to Murf AI and PlayHT. You get the ability to include multiple speakers in your voiceover with different languages, tones, styles, pitches, and speeds.
I find this great for podcasts, audiobooks, character narration, multilingual content, etc. If your content revolves around multiple voices, you should check out this feature.
Example: Check out this small conversation between a reporter and an archaeologist.
4) Language Translation
Another interesting feature of Lazybird AI is translation. All you need to do is enter your script, specify your target language, and select a voice. If you don’t pick a voice, the voiceover is generated in the default voice assigned for that language.
However, I didn’t find any difference in translation to other accents of the same language (like American English to Indian English). You will find true translation capabilities when choosing two different languages. This is great for dubbing projects.
5) Insert Media Elements
To give you the complete video/audio editing experience, Lazybird also offers a library of stock images and videos.
You can also insert stock music in your projects to make them more lively. Music tracks can be filtered by categories like cinematic, inspiring, happy, chill, fun, hip-hop, etc. Additionally, it comes with a timeline editor to easily trim down music tracks.
6) Multiple Export Options
Once you are done making customizations to your voiceover, it’s time to download your file. Lazybird AI lets you export your project as a video file, audio file, or as transcript.
It supports the following formats:
- Video File: MP4 and MOV
- Audio File: MP3, WAV, and OGG
- Transcript: TXT, DOCX, SRT, and VTT
Additionally, you can also share your file with others via public links.
Lazybird AI Support
Lazybird offers live chat support on its dashboard. The chat is initiated by a bot, which is later taken over by a human agent.
I personally found the chat support to be quick, polite, and humane. They offered swift and insightful replies to resolve my queries. Overall, the support experience on Lazybird is great. For a newer product, offering such good customer service is impressive.
Lazybird AI Roadmap
Lazybird is a relatively new product, which is why they have a detailed roadmap on Notion. The page displays a list of features categorized according to their progress.
Live features, features in progress, planned features, and features they are exploring are placed neatly in different sections. They are currently working on the voice cloning feature. You can check out more details on the Lazybird Roadmap.
I wish they also included dates and ETA with their features to cut down the waiting time and confusion among their customers.
Lazybird AI Pricing
AppSumo Deal
Right now, Lazybird is available on AppSumo as a lifetime deal for just $49!
With this plan, you’ll get 200k characters/month for generating AI voices. I think this is enough for most creators. But if you need more credits, you can opt for its Tier 2 plan for $129, with a limit of 1 million characters/month.
Regular Pricing
Lazybird offers two paid plans on its official website – The premium plan and the Pro plan.
The Premium plan offers 200k monthly characters and can be availed for $4/month. Whereas, the Pro plan can be available for $9/month, offering 1 million characters every month!
Free Plan
If you want to get a test run of the platform, Lazybird also features a generous free plan. The free version gives you 3k monthly characters and access to 200+ AI voices.
Payment Methods
On its official website, Lazybird supports payments made through Cards and PayPal.
Refund Policy
Lazybird doesn’t offer refunds for unused portions of your subscribed plan. However, if you opt for its AppSumo deal, you get a 60-day refund policy.
Lazybird AI Pros
1) Attractive Lifetime Deal
The lifetime deal of Lazybird is priced at merely $49. This is pretty good considering the features it offers. If you don’t find it worth it, you can claim a complete refund within 60 days of purchase!
2) Realistic English Voices
The English voices available in Lazybird’s library are pretty refined and professional. The voiceovers generated in different accents of English feel realistic and natural.
3) Good Celebrity Voices
Lazybird features a few celebrity voices, including Kanye West, Obama, Mr. Beast, Spongebob, etc. Their voices sound highly believable. However, there are concerns about the licensing of these voices.
4) Multiple Export Options
You’ll find multiple options to export your voiceover as an audio, video, or transcript. This makes it easy to integrate your voiceovers into presentations, videos, podcasts, or even written content.
5) Good Support
The live chat support offered by Lazybird AI is super quick, responsive, and helpful. The chat is initiated by a bot and further handled by a human agent. Overall, the support is impressive.
Lazybird AI Cons
1) Celebrity Voice Copyright Issues
Even though the celebrity voices sound exceptionally real, using them on professional projects may lead to copyright issues.
2) No Self Voice Cloning
Unlike other AI voice tools, including PlayHT and ElevenLabs, Lazybird AI doesn’t offer voice cloning functionality yet. However, it is on their roadmap. I hope they introduce it soon.
3) Slow Previews
You may experience sluggish speeds while previewing the voiceovers generated by different blocks in your project.
4) High Credit Consumption
Even though Lazybird offers a lot of credits, the credit consumption is still pretty high. Previewing the voiceover with slight changes in the script (like adding a comma) ends up consuming the entire credits again!
5) No PDF Imports
At the moment, Lazybird AI doesn’t support importing PDF documents into your projects. You need to manually copy and paste your script or upload your files in DOCX, TXT, CSV, SRT, or VTT formats.
6) Limited Hindi Voices
Lazybird currently offers very limited voices in Hindi. Additionally, the voices are average and sound slightly robotic.
7) Mispronounced Words
Lazybird AI is not a very polished software as of now. For instance, it can’t pronounce the dollar symbol, and the pronunciation of words with apostrophes (E.g., Here or Here’s) is pretty weird. I hope they work on improving it soon.
Who Should Use Lazybird AI?
The primary use cases of Lazybird AI include creating advertisements, podcasts, corporate training videos, audiobooks, online course lectures, educational content, TikTok videos, and creative videos.
Lazybird AI is suitable for Faceless YouTube channels, multi-language content creators, podcasters, online course creators, audiobook creators, and social media content creators.
Lazybird AI Alternatives
1) ElevenLabs
ElevenLabs is one of the most sought-after AI voice generator platforms right now. However, ElevenLabs stands out for its focus on diverse AI voice libraries, highly lifelike voiceovers, voice cloning, and dubbing.
Unlike Lazybird’s celebrity voices (which raise potential copyright issues), ElevenLabs emphasizes unique voices and a broader range of English accents. While Lazybird allows detailed control over pauses, pitch, and volume, ElevenLabs prioritizes the overall realism in voices.
The free plan of Elevenlabs offers 10k characters/month. Whereas, its pricing plans start at a competitive $1/month.
2) PlayHT
PlayHT is a realistic AI text-to-speech generation tool. It also overlaps with Lazybird AI in text-to-speech and multi-speaker voiceovers, offering an extensive library of voices (900+ AI voices). Unlike Lazybird, it offers advanced filter options like accent, age, gender, tempo, and emotions.
While its voice cloning is less accurate and still in development, PlayHT offers a free plan with 12.5k characters and one voice clone. Paid plans start at $39/month for 250k characters and 10 voice clones.
Why Should You Trust Me?
I’ve been working full-time in the digital industry since 2015. I’ve used and tested hundreds of AI tools in all these years. These include AI writers, AI domain name generators, AI website builders, AI Art Generators, AI video generators, and more.
I’ve recently tested dozens of AI voice tools for creating an article on the Best AI Voice Generators. Testing out so many AI tools regularly has given me the knowledge and experience to suggest the right one for your needs.
Conclusion
In this article, we explored Lazybird AI and its features. While it may not be as advanced as ElevenLabs or PlayHT, it’s still a solid option, especially if you’re on a budget and looking for a lifetime deal.
If you run a faceless YouTube channel or produce a lot of AI audio content, Lazybird AI is worth considering. With time, it has the potential to improve further. However, if you’re a professional seeking high-quality Hindi audio, ElevenLabs or PlayHT are better suited for your needs.
Still undecided? Lazybird’s lifetime deal comes with a 60-day refund policy, giving you plenty of time to test it out and see if it fits your requirements. Anyway, if you want to explore more voice tools, check out these AI Voice Generators, AI voice changers, and AI Dubbing tools.
