About Rytr

Rytr is an AI-powered writing tool launched recently in April 2022. The founder and CEO of Rytr is Mr. Abhi Godara, an entrepreneur from San Francisco.

Rytr.me

Rytr helps you generate high-quality AI content for blogs, YouTube videos, emails, social media posts and ads, landing pages, and a lot more. It also supports multiple languages and tones.

It is based on the latest technology called the GPT-3 AI model that helps in generating new and plagiarism-free content in minutes! Now, let us discuss in depth about the working of the Rytr tool.

How does Rytr work?

AI Writing tools use language models to learn vocabulary, sentence formation and language rules from all text-based data published on the Internet.

Then, they make use of their learning to generate new sentences from the existing ones! Sounds cool, right? But how does Rytr mark itself differently?

Rytr is based on the latest version of language models called the GPT-3 (Generative Pre-trained Transformer 3) technology.

GPT 3 technology

GPT3 is a language prediction model that can produce high-quality content from inputs supplied to it. It is used for generating texts, question answers, summaries, translations, etc.

Because it can predict the next words and create new and unique sentences, the content generated by GPT 3 technology is usually free from plagiarism!

If you’re someone who doesn’t like to read much, here’s a video review of Rytr. It’s in the Hindi language with English subtitles. Hope you enjoy it!

Pricing$0$29/month$39
Characters/month5kUnlimited50k

Rytr was available as an AppSumo Lifetime deal for $39. With this plan, you get a 50k characters/month limit. I think it is 100% worth purchasing. Why? (Read the article till the end to find out!)

User Interface

The web interface of Rytr is clean and friendly for beginners. You can quickly sign up with your email, Google account, or Facebook account by clicking on the ‘Start Ryting’ button.

Rytr User Interface 1

The Editor opens up as a pop-up window, but you can also switch to the full screen version by clicking on the option on the header.

Rytr User Interface 2,jpg

Rytr does not feature a mobile app yet. However, it is optimized for using on mobile browsers. I faced no major problems while working with Rytr on my mobile.

The only issue was the text editing tools overlapping with my mobile’s copy and paste options. Overall, I really found the web and mobile interface of Rytr quite attractive and easy to use.

How to start working with Rytr?

Working with Rytr is a cakewalk! Literally anyone can generate the content of their choice within seconds. Follow the steps mentioned below to get started with Rytr.

Step 1: Choose a language from the drop-down menu.

Step 2: Set a suitable tone for your content.

Step 3: Choose the type of content you wish to create.

How to Start Working with Rytr

Step 4: Specify a keyword or key phrase up to 50 characters.

Step 5: Enter the number of variants (maximum 3) you want to generate.

Step 6: Click on Ryte for Me‘. It will generate the results within a matter of seconds.

The generated content can be edited in the editor panel. If you are not satisfied with the results, you can tweak your inputs (the tone and the keywords) to generate more accurate outputs.

Rytr also offers the History tab for revisiting your previously generated content. You can also keep a note of the characters used under the Accounts tab.

Features

  • Languages

Rytr supports 29 languages as of now, which is great for creating content in your native language.

Multiple languages in Rytr

Some languages like Arabic, Bulgarian, Czech, Finnish, Malay, and Hindi have been recently added to it! The support of the Hindi language would be helpful for Indian writers.

The support for such a wide variety of languages makes Rytr stand out! I have not seen this on other AI tools yet!

  • Tones

Tone plays a very important role while drafting content. With the right tone, you can evoke the required emotion in the reader, or even persuade them to buy your product.

Tones in Rytr 1

Rytr offers 21 tones for expressing a variety of emotions. Humorous, casual, convincing, worried, humble, passionate, formal, etc are some examples. They have recently added the Critical tone as well.

Using relevant tones, you can control the effect your content has on the readers. For example, sales emails can use a convincing tone, whereas blog intros can be written in an enthusiastic tone, etc.

  • Use Cases

As writers, we need to create different content types to suit different purposes, right? Rytr does not disappoint us in this case! It offers 24 use cases covering different areas. For example,

Use Cases in Rytr 1

  • Bloggers can generate entire blog posts from scratch and optimize them for SEO with these use cases: Blog Idea and Outline, Section Writing, Tagline and Headline, SEO meta Description, and SEO Meta Title.
  • Copywriters can generate high quality copies for landing pages and websites, and also create content following the AIDA and PAS copywriting frameworks.
  • YouTubers can generate quick channel descriptions, video descriptions, and get video ideas for creating new videos.
  • Entrepreneurs, Businessmen and Sales Professionals can create Facebook, Google, and Linkedin ads, product descriptions, business idea pitch, and testimonials.
  • HR Professionals can create hiring and onboarding emails, interview questions, and job description.
  • Social Media Managers can generate post and caption ideas, and profile bio within seconds!
  • Creative Writers can generate creative content like song lyrics and story plots.
  • Magic Command can implement additional use cases like generating poems, letters, answers, etc.

Rytr Use Cases with Examples

Now that you know the type of content Rytr can generate, it’s time to demonstrate some popular use cases along with interesting examples.

I have purchased the AppSumo lifetime deal of Rytr. With this plan, I get to use 50k characters/month. For every use case, I will show you my inputs and the outputs generated by Rytr, along with the credits used for generating them.

I hope this section will help you understand the working of Rytr AI software in a much better way. Let’s begin!

Email

Rytr can generate a variety of emails. All you need to do is enter the key points required in your email content. I generated two email variants. Let’s check them out.

Variant 1: Job Inquiry Email

Email variant 1

The output generated is decent. It’s short, simple, and covers all the key points we mentioned. When you change the tones, the output also changes.

The only downside was that it couldn’t generate accurate subject lines when I tried it with different queries. A total of 332 credits were used up in generating this email variant.

Variant 2: Work Status Email

Email variant 2

I really liked this version. It actually goes with the ‘Humble’ tone that I selected. But again, the subject lines were not up to the mark. 704 credits were used in generating these 2 email variants.

In my opinion, Writesonic and Jasper are great AI if you want to generate different types of emails.

Blog Idea and Outline

For generating a Blog Idea and Outline with Rytr, you need to add your target keyword as an input. I tested this feature for a technical and a non-technical topic. Let’s see how Rytr performs with them.

Variant 1: Technical Topic

Blog Idea and Outline variant 1

Clearly, the outline for ProWritingAid Review looks very short and does not cover all the aspects as a ‘Review’ should! We used 231 credits for creating this variant.

In my opinion, Rytr is not the most effective tool for generating technical content.

Variant 2: General topic

Blog Idea and Outline Variant 2

537 characters were consumed for creating this variant. And as you can see, it generated a more relevant content and outline idea for this topic. So, you won’t have a problem with searching blog content ideas on Rytr unless it’s a technical topic.

Blog Section Writing

Blog Sections together make up a blog post. For creating a blog section with Rytr, you need to specify your topic and it will generate content around it.

For this, I tried to use different tones and find out how the content changes. Let’s check out the results!

Variant 1: Technical Topic (Convincing Tone)

Blog Section variant 1

This output is quite impressive. It generated three paragraphs of relevant content using up 677 credits. I can easily use this section in my article without making any changes at all!

Variant 2: Technical Topic (Critical Tone)

Blog Section variant 2

Here’s the issue. When I entered the same topic with a different tone, the content was not very relevant! It took 812 credits to generate this version.

Variant 3: General Topic

Blog Section variant 3

I experimented with a general topic and the results were again quite impressive this time. This version used 707 credits and generated an insightful block of content.

Overall, I feel Rytr works much better with general topics. But for technical topics, I think they can provide an ‘Informative tone’ as well.

If you need a long-form content writer, you can go with Scalenut, Copy AI, Jasper AI, or Writesonic.

Copywriting Framework (AIDA)

For creating a copy with the AIDA framework, you need to first enter a short description of your product/brand and then select a tone. I have tried it both with a product and my brand. Let’s check out the results that it produced.

Variant 1: Product Description

Copywriting Variant 1

This variant for Canva designing tool used up 484 credits. I personally did not like it much. If you look closely, the Attention, Interest, and Desire sections almost look the same! It might work better for other products.

Variant 2: Brand Description

Copywriting Variant 2

I absolutely loved this copy! What really stood out for me was that it understood the vision behind my blog when I didn’t even mention it in the input. It took 497 characters to produce this output.

Overall, the Copywriting Framework feature is quite good and makes the copywriting process much simpler! But you need to experiment with different tones to bring out the best results.

Video Description

To produce a video description, you only need to enter the title of your video. Let’s see how well this tool performs for general and for technical content.

Variant 1: General Topic

Video Description Variant 1

I generated 2 variants of the same topic and both of them look excellent! They are not very vague or descriptive. You can easily personalize them as per your video content.

Both the variants consumed a total of 515 credits.

Variant 2: Technical Topic

Video description variant 2

The problem arises with technical topics. If you read the output text closely, you’ll notice that the first one is very accurate, the second one is vague, and the third one is irrelevant.

All the three variants consumed 720 credits in total.

Tagline and Headline

For generating headlines and taglines on Rytr, all you need to do is add a small description about your product/brand. For example, I tried creating a tagline for the product- Canva.

Tagline and Headline

Overall, the results were decent. But you need to experiment with different tones to get the best results. Entering precise information and the right tone is the key!

It took 117 credits for generating the above mentioned variants.

Landing Page and Website Copy

You can create Landing pages and website copies within seconds using Rytr. Just enter basic information like your website’s name, its details, and its major features.

Landing Page and Website Copy Input

For example, when I entered information about my own blog, I got the following results.

Landing Page and Website Copy Output

Honestly, I am highly impressed! It included all the points and elaborated them in an engaging manner. This tool is my favourite so far! 822 credits were used up in creating content for our landing page.

Magic Command

The Magic Command tool adds more flexibility to Rytr by letting you generate content other than the use cases available. All you need to do is enter whatever you need in the input field.

It will send your requests as commands to the AI and generate the content you asked for. You can use it to generate poems, anniversary letters, answers, etc. Let’s see how it performs for different inputs.

Variant 1: Basic Science Question

Magic Command Variant 1

I asked a basic science question, and it gave an intelligent answer. This variant took 337 credits. Even students can use Rytr for completing their homeworks and assignments!

Variant 2: Poetry

Magic Command variant 2

This variant took up 142 credits. Here, I supplied 5 very specific details in the input field, and to my surprise, it included 4 of them! I actually liked the poem that it generated.

What do you think? Does it look good? Let me know your views in the comments section. WordHero, Writecream, and Jasper AI would be excellent choices for generating fictional content as well.

Long Form Content

To create long form content in Rytr, you first need to create a Blog outline. Here, I have generated three outline variants for ‘Best Budget Travel Tips.’

Long form content input 1

Long form content input 2

These variants consumed 1867 characters in total. I liked the third variant, which is why I selected it for creating my article.

Long form content paragraph

For generating more content, select a topic and click on Paragraph. It will automatically elaborate the topic in a paragraph like this!

Long form content Generated paragraph

In my experience, the Paragraph tool worked well. It understood the context and generated comprehensive text.

However, it might not be accurate. So, you need to tweak it as per your requirements.

Text Editing Tools

We have a variety of text editing features available in Rytr. To demonstrate the editing tools, we first create a Blog Outline from the topic “How to be more productive at work.” We will test out all the text editing tools on this outline one by one.

Paragraph Tool

As we saw in the previous topic, the Paragraph tool helps you expand sentences into paragraphs of content.

Text Editing - Paragraph

The paragraph might not be totally accurate as per your overall article though. It only generates content from the selected text. Therefore, you might need to make changes wherever required.

Rephrase Tool

The Rephrase tool helps you express the same idea in different words. For example, it might simplify longer sentences, convert passive voice to active voice, etc.

Text Editing Rephrase Tool input 1

When we rephrase the above sentence, it generates a comprehensible sentence like the one below.

Text Editing Rephrase tool output 1

Can you see the difference? The rephrased content gives the hint of a polished writer! What do you think? Let me know in the comment box!

Improve Tool

This tool helps correct your grammar and improve the readability of text.

Text Editing - Improve Tool input

For example, when we use the Improve tool on the grammatically wrong sentence mentioned above, it turns out to be something like this.

Text editing - Improve tool output

It corrected all the grammatical errors in my sentence, which is quite cool! Similarly, we have four other additional tools that can help you with editing your generated text.

  • Expand Tool: It adds up words to increase the length of sentence without changing the actual meaning.
  • Append Tool: It adds words at the end of the text that you have selected. You can use it to complete your sentences.
  • Shorten Tool: It shortens the sentence length to make it clear and easy to read.
  • Plagiarism Checking tool: It helps you quickly scan the web to see if the generated content is copied.

SEO Meta Description

This tool helps you generate SEO optimized meta descriptions for your websites, pages, and blogs in seconds! All you need to do is enter the meta title of your website or page.

I tested it for a technical topic around web hosting, i.e., HostArmada Review. Let’s find out the results.

SEO Meta Description

All three variants look good. However, they are quite generic, as none of them mentioned the details that I entered in the input field. This took 569 credits in total!

Interview Questions

Questions for interviewing candidates can be generated with Rytr in seconds! You just have to enter the interviewee bio and the interview context.

For example, this was the result when I supplied details for interviewing a candidate for the graphic designing position.

Interview Questions

I really found the generated questions witty and thought provoking! The best part is that it framed the questions around the details provided, like “Google” and “college student”.

I would definitely love to use it for interviewing candidates on my team in the future!

This variant consumed 355 credits.

Facebook, Google, Linkedin Ads

Rytr makes it easy to create advertisements for social media. Just enter your product description and the ad is created on its own! I tested it by creating an ad for the Teachable LMS Platform. Let’s see the results.

Ads in Rytr

It took 578 credits to create 2 variants of this ad copy. The first one was quite average. It misunderstood the context. Whereas, the second one was relevant but didn’t include all the details.

Overall, you can create ads but just make sure you experiment with different inputs and tones before finalizing them.

Testimonial and Review

Rytr can generate comprehensive reviews and testimonials for websites. All you need to do is provide a Review title and see the magic unfold!

For example, I generated two variants for my 1Password Review and here are the results.

Testimonial and Review

I absolutely love both the variants. They consumed 700 credits in total. Both the outputs are so believable and almost feel like actual dedicated users of 1Password wrote them! Overall, I am thrilled with this feature.

Business Idea Pitch

With this tool, you create attractive and to-the-point startup pitches for your business. Supply your business idea, and the pitch is ready in no time!

For example, I entered a startup idea about an AI coding platform. Let’s see what it generates.

Business idea pitch

The two variants for business pitch consumed 705 credits in total. Both the versions look engaging. I especially liked the second one. It uses technical terms, which makes it more convincing.

Story Plot

Yes, you read it right! Rytr can even create interesting plots for your stories. I supplied a very simple story idea. Let’s check out the output.

Story Plot

I won’t call this result a failed attempt! The plot looks decent, but I feel that it lacks the imagination of a human mind! You can test it with different tones and storylines to get new ideas! It took up 574 characters to produce this variant.

Post and Caption Ideas

This tool helps you crank out content for your social media posts and captions. I tested with a simple topic around tree plantation. Here are the results.

Post and Caption ideas

The three variants consumed 1067 characters. I liked all of them. The first one even added some relevant hashtags!

If you notice carefully, the first and the third ones followed the guidelines and included the keyword “neighborhood”. I didn’t find it in the second variant. But overall, you can surely use this tool to create attractive captions.

And now, it’s time for a bonus use case for my Indian audiences. Let’s see how you can generate content in the Hindi language using Rytr.

Hindi Content

I chose a general topic for creating a blog section and it produced quite good results.

Hindi Content

155 credits were used in generating this variant. If you are a Hindi content writer, you can definitely check out this tool!

More Use Cases

To see more Rytr use cases, you can take a look at the table below. We have saved all the outputs in the table below. This will give you an idea of the quality that we can get from Rytr.

Customer Support

Rytr offers email and live chat support to its users. Its Live Chat support is pretty quick.

Live chat support in Rytr

I received answers to most of my queries within 2-3 minutes. Its Onboarding process comprises an 8-minute explainer video tutorial for beginners as soon as they create an account.

Rytr Knowledgebase

Its Resources and Guide page comprises brief descriptions of all features of Rytr and important FAQs. Rytr also has a growing Community tab with over 165 members and 45+ posts at present, and a Blog with engaging content on copywriting, Content writing, marketing, etc.

Rewards

With the AppSumo deal of Rytr, you get 50k characters/month, which is quite limited. It isn’t enough to test all the use cases. To solve this problem, Rytr also has a Reward system put in place.

Rewards in Rytr

It helps you increase your credits in exchange for a small task. You basically have to write a review for the Rytr tool on the following platforms.

Once you send them the screenshots of your published reviews, the credits would be added into your Rytr account. The credit distribution is as follows:

  • 1000 Credits for reviews posted on Linkedin, Facebook, and Twitter
  • 2000 Credits for reviews posted on AppSumo and Trustpilot
  • 3000 Credits for reviews posted on G2

Affiliate Program

Rytr also has a very rewarding Affiliate Program for its users. When you sign up for their Affiliate Program, you can refer Rytr to your friends, family, and followers.

Affiliate Program of Rytr

If they purchase Rytr using your referral link, you will earn 30% commission on all references for lifetime. This is great for influencers with an existing audience!

Team Collaboration

The Team Collaboration feature enables groups of employees to work on content together. It is specifically designed for companies and agencies. Rytr lets you add a member to your team for $19/month, which is quite expensive.

As a workaround, you can simply share access to your Rytr account with your teammates. They can, in turn, use it on multiple devices.

If you have the Premium account of Rytr that comes for $29/month, your team members can keep generating content without worrying about exceeding the character limit.

Rytr Roadmap

The RoadMap of Rytr looks quite impressive. They have planned to launch a bunch of exciting features and I can’t wait to test them out! Some important future updates on the Rytr AI tool would be:

  • API integration
  • Browser extension
  • AI based image generation tool and SEO tool
  • Sharing and collaboration functions
  • Feedback or rating system for its users
  • New use cases like – Cover letter, Resume builder, essay writing, Dialog/script writing, etc.

Implementation of the above features would make Rytr a more powerful tool! To know more about it, you can visit their Roadmap Page.

Rytr Pros

1. Good UI

The user interface of Rytr looks quite modern and well-organized. It looks clean and friendly on both web and mobile devices.

2. Easy to Use

Rytr tool is easy to use for beginners and is not crammed with dozens of functions to overwhelm the users.

3. Supports 29 languages

The best feature of Rytr is its support for multiple languages. You can generate content in 29 languages as of now. Indians would love to generate Hindi content!

4. Excellent Live Chat Support

Their Live Chat support is quite fast and responsive. I received replies to my queries in under 1-5 minutes.

5. Powerful Landing Page Creator

The Landing Page Creator generated impressive and highly relevant content. With a few tweaks, your landing page copy is ready to roll!

6. Inbuilt Plagiarism Checker

Rytr also has an in-built plagiarism checking tool. You can instantly check if the generated content is available on the web by simply clicking on the plagiarism checker.

7. Interesting Magic Command Tool

The Magic Command tool adds more flexibility to your AI writing. It lets you generate additional content like poems, letters, question answers, etc not mentioned in the use cases.

Rytr Cons

1. Limited Credits on AppSumo deal

The AppSumo deal offers a 50,000-character limit per month. I’ve used up 42k characters, (i.e. 84% of my monthly limit) just for testing all the use cases available on Rytr!

2. Limited Input Options

While generating SEO metadata, Rytr should provide an option for adding target keywords. The SEO metadata should be generated according to the target keyword. Though it’s not a huge issue, the input option would have helped a lot in tuning the content.

3. Informative Tone Missing

Because I mostly work with technical and review articles, I find the informative tone more relevant for my content. Sadly, I didn’t find it on Rytr.

4. Blog Intro Missing

Most writers (including me) struggle with writing interesting intros for their blog posts. Rytr should also include the Blog Intro as a use case.

5. Inconsistencies

It does not always include all the inputs that we have provided for a use case, like the AIDA framework. Also, changing the tone sometimes flips the content considerably, and it becomes irrelevant to the topic.

Should you use Rytr?

In my opinion, Rytr is a powerful and easy-to-use tool for quickly generating creative content. You can definitely check it out. But remember, the entire AI technology has a limitation. It won’t work for all niches. So, if you are a content creator, you’ll have to first test it out on your website.

How do you do that? Well, you can start with the free version of Rytr where you get 5k characters/month. Technically, this is extremely limited, but it will only take you a few minutes to figure out if it actually works for your niche.

If it does, you can switch to its AppSumo lifetime deal where you’ll get 50k characters/month. (In case you don’t like it, they also have a 60-days refund policy.)

And if you love it and want to work on it extensively, you can also switch to the monthly subscription for Rytr $29/month. This plan has no limit on the number of characters!

Who is Rytr best suited for?

Rytr.me would be a highly beneficial AI Writing Assistant for writers who need to draft creative content regularly. This tool will save up a lot of their time and effort spent in content creation.

It has a variety of use cases designed for everyone, from content creators, social media writers, and copywriters, to freelancers, sales professionals, and entrepreneurs.

The USP of Rytr is its support for a library of 29 languages! This feature alone makes it a powerful medium for exploring and expanding your content in a variety of languages.

Even translators can benefit from Rytr by translating books and articles so readers around the globe can enjoy them!

However, Rytr is not a highly refined tool. You can’t use it for all content niches. It can only generate basic content that needs to be fine-tuned as per your requirements.

Alternatives to Rytr

With the AI industry growing at a swift pace, a bunch of AI-based writing tools have entered the market today. But all of them aren’t efficient or accurate. The following tools might be the best alternatives to Rytr.

Jasper AI

Jasper AI is a powerful AI writer that comes with a modern and friendly interface along with a range of use cases. Similar to Rytr, it supports multiple languages and tone settings.

Along with that, it also features power-packed tools like a long-form editor, AI recipes, and Jasper Chat. However, it’s on the expensive side with its pricing plans starting from $49/month.

Writesonic

WriteSonic is a copywriting software that uses AI to generate unique content. It supports 24 languages as of now. But there is no Hindi language available.

With this AI writer, you can create unique posts, landing pages, ads, product descriptions, and more! It also offers additional tools like growth ideas, startup ideas, product names, etc. Its pricing plans start from $12.67/month.

Conclusion

Rytr is a newcomer in the AI-writing space, but it has a strong potential to become a major player. With its GPT 3 model in place, Rytr can definitely be the future of AI copywriting in the content industry.

Overall, Rytr looks like an impressive AI-powered writing tool. It’s easy to use. It’s simple. It’s quick! Although you get limited monthly credits, the Lifetime deal looks like a steal deal to me at the price point it’s being offered!

I am going to keep this tool. I loved generating unique content with Rytr and I am curious to see what improvements it’s going to implement in the future. You can also try out these AI writers on lifetime deals if you need a tool for the longer term.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed reading this Rytr Review. Have you tried using any paid or free AI content generators? How was your experience with them? Let me know your opinions in the comments sections below.

  1. This is a very well written review Kripesh, and probably the best and certainly the most comprehensive I’ve come across so far. Used your link to purchase it on AppSumo to help support your efforts.

I have 2 accounts on AppSumo, and have thought about buying one code on each, which would give me up to 100k characters per month. Might do that yet.

  2. Good review in Detail, good Job with lot of information. Some more details to include on this you can check on my article about Rytr
